Chocolat

Yesterday, we went to San Juan for our mini reunion. My cousins came home from California and Singapore and it was very lovely to see them. This is the first time that I am going to see my new nephew (pic shown on the previous entry), Xylone.

My cousin wanted to buy cake and I went with them.  The place is called Chocolat, located in one of those side streets (A. Mabini) in San Juan along Wilson. 

When we entered Chocolat, the chocolate aroma is all over the place.

The place is small and jam packed on a Sunday. About 10-15 people can dine and sip coffee, hot chocolate and eat cake. So it must be good.

It was heaven in San Juan.

Saturday:F21- Mr Napoleones - Mr. Kimbob - Greenhills - Cha Dao

Mr. Who???

Okay, let me explain.

10:30am : The sun hits my eyes. Curtains from the balcony not much of a help. It's hot outside and I feel so optimistic today. I continue to read my newly acquired book from Madeleine Wickham a.k.a Sophie Kinsella. "The Gatecrasher" while I wait for BB to wake up.

4:00pm : Went to SM Megamall to visit Forever 21. Once you enter Forever 21, a mannequin greets you resting on a circular platform and where MEN are sitted in agony waiting for their gfs,wife,kids,grandkids finish the huge place on surveying the racks and racks of clothes. I whispered to W, if he would like to join his "friends" while he waits for me too as I , yes MOI, is on a mission to find that specific dress. BUT FIRST, I went to the shoe section.

 Pretty disappointed. Nothing nice, only 13-14 year olds around 5 feet in height, giggling  and asking one another about "credit cards" because the 4 inch platforms are to die for! They can like borrow the other's credit card and do the shopping spree. I look to my left, 4 kids were like screaming to their parents with joy about how cheap the shoes are for around 2000 pesos.

THE WORLD has gone mad. Do they even know how hard it is to earn? And all they can do is scream at their parents and just make them buy what they were clinging on to.

Feeling disgusted, I had to let go the black stilleto lace up boots from my hands. I placed the shoes back on the rack and closed my eyes and walk away. I can still hear the kids  going crazy and hoarding everything they see. I tried to look back and the mother was like doing mental calculations.

I moved on going to the rack of clothes and still trying to find MY DRESS. I found myself  on racks and racks of clothes on a BUY1 TAKE1 offer. As I move the clothes one by one on one rack, this woman comes marching in and does the same AS IF I WAS NOT THERE. She swiftly scanned through the clothes on the rack. I stepped back instead and went on to another rack. I scanned through the whole section and held a bustier top. This woman walks on my side then suddenly said "excuse me" like saying "if I may?" and got the bustier top I was holding. Just perfect. Then here comes the teens who talks so loud in a super english followed by "OMIGAWD!!!" and "I KNOW RIGHT, LOOK AT THIS!!! OH LOOK  BLAH BLAH BLAH" I felt like throwing up. It does feel irritating.

I went back to BB and I said that I don't want to do shopping anymore. I feel disgusted and irritated. He gave me a hug and said that he also wanted to get out. While he was sitting, a family of 4 all girls were screaming telling their mom to buy the things they were holding because each costs around 1000 php ONLY.

So anyway that was F21. I think I'll visit again after December. After all these madness.

Not having lunch and it was already dinner time, we were really hungry. So we find ourselves going to the Food Court. BB then stopped for a minute and asked if I tried Napoleones. What the heck is Naponleones? Who is that anyway.

It all started  last Thursday, when he was with the Sultan.  They were with a policeman in Trinoma I think and people were all lined up at this small stall. The Sultan asked the policeman what it was.

Sultan: Ano yan?

Policeman: Hindi ko po alam eh. Tanong ko nalang po.

Policeman: Miss, ano po yan?

Miss: Pastries po.

Policeman: Sultan, Tastries daw po.

Sultan: Tastries? anong tastries? Miss bigyan mo nga kami nyan. (insert the mean part here)

Being a sweet tooth that I am, I LOVE IT!

We went to the Food Court and I saw that Manang's Chicken has joined the SM FC. I had to make BB try it. Double fried in extra spicy sauce.

I even have DQ on my list but skipped it.

On a hot plate, I ordered Chicken Bibimbap.

After eating, I went to Etude House to pick up some items. Then afterwards we went to Greenhills.
Midnight bazaar has started and the bazaars are swamped.
This made me quit. Although I was able to buy denim shorts and BB got me a new bag.


Exhausted and thirsty, I wanted to go home. Of course before reaching the house I need to get my yakult.

Then I was happy again.

Ramen Bar

I have seen Ramen Girl and when I saw Ramen Bar here in Eastwood, I have been wanting to try it ever since. I am a bit weary to try it because I thought it was just another expensive bowl of noodles.

So yes, I tried to settle for something else.

The closest that I can get eating this so called ramen is the instant ones from the 88 store. So yeah now I know the difference.

The place is really cozy and full of yellow lights. So it is really nice to take picture of your food. The chairs are made of wood  with comfy leather seats.

I also find it very anime-ish.

And since christmas is near, they really made nice decorations by placing felt, glittered poinsettias on each table. Their place mats are rectangular papers with their menu on it.

I ordered Chicken Namban. It's like deep fried chunks of boneless chicken with like honey mustard sauce and sprinkled sesame seeds. The chicken is very tender and the spices really

Soy infused tonkotsu based ramen. According to the menu, the pork bones are boiled for 20 hours.

The pork cuts are sooooo soft and it melts on your mouth.

But I prefer this to be spicy so I had to place alot of chili oil and flakes (similar to the chili they place in Kimchi)

Tempura Ice Cream

Vanilla Ice Cream inside a tempura batter minus the crumbs. Drizzled with chocolate syrup and a chocolate waffer stick.

The craziest Saturday of the year.

It's NOVEMBER. People rushing everywhere. I (state my name) promise to stay away from SALE and hidden outlets until January.

This is like a quick post (but kinda' long one)  because I still have errands for tomorrow. So yeah, today is payday week. Some people got their 13 month, bonuses or whatsoever. Everyone is rushing to the mall probably  doing some christmas shopping. AND I (I state my name once again) haven't done any shopping yet. Which is 1)slowly killing me. 2) haven't made a list yet. and 3) not in a mood to shop which is REALLY WEIRD!

Anyway last Tuesday, I got myself a Lumix Camera. YES! Finally! What did I say about getting a point and shoot huh!? :) I have been carrying it with me everyday I think. It is really nice getting macro shots just like the GBM post and this post.

Also this Friday, I was able to get some Churros from City Walk which I totally forgot the name of the stall. We were waiting for like 20 minutes in Dulcinea and havent got any of our orders so we just left. BOOO!!! Anyway got my churros fix anyway.

I cannot help myself but compare the caramel sauce from Auntie Anne's pretzel :( which is waaaaay better.

That was Friday -- The End.

So here comes Saturday.

IMAGINE the HORRIBLE TRAFFIC! We were going to Megamall because I was going to drop by Forever21 today. But NO. Katipunan was like bumper to bumper all the way to C5. so I QUIT. We went to SM Cubao instead because I need to buy a huge shoe cabinet / shoe rack that can fit dozens and dozens to which I can't find any, so I might customize. My tita just sent me 23 pairs for different types of footwear. I don't know how I'll use it. Everyday I guess? I have a little less than 80 pairs. WTH...

But still, I bought another one today from Parisian. :)

Yes new ankle wedge boots with a cute little bow.

After the impulsive buying, we went around the department store and bought some stuff from Watsons. Still without any breakfast and lunch nor dinner at 7pm, BB and I were super duper hungry. We were so hungry that we can't even decide what to eat. All I know is that I am hungry.

While looking for something to eat, a huge sign of Brother's Burger stopped BB. They are 50% off! So imagine, our faces when we saw it. The promo is until November 30, 2011.

We ordered 4 Brother's Burger. 2 for each one of us, fries and onion rings. The cashier was like "WHOA! are you sure you can finish 4 burgers?" Yeah I guess so we are happy and hungry anyway.

And that didn't end. I rushed to Mcdonalds, got myself a chicken and spaghetti combo. and another large fries. We were literally wolfing down the burgers and fries.

Hungry and excited at the same time :)

This thing right here went straight to my stomach. Plus spaghetti and chicken from Mcdonald's.

To finish our night, I was craving for DQ ice cream and BB had to stop me and remind me that I won't be able to finish the ice cream-- true enough. So on our way home, I got wild berry yakult from Cha Dao.

And look what we got from Mcdonald's for 39 pesos.

So yeah I think that's how my Saturday ended.
