Nasugbu Trip Part 1

I was supposed to blog about the Batangas Escapade we had. The camping and all those things. But then it was such a busy week, month, day... because of work and running errands. ( This paragraph was last 23rd.)

Okay so now I changed my mind and I promise to finish this TODAY. Get ready silent readers.

Earlier this month, we went to Nasugbu for our first beach experience this year. I have to tell you that everything was like my "first time".

It all started I think it was labor day or something.  We all agreed to meet up and leave around 5am. But of course being the Filipino in the Filipino Time we left quarter to six.

It was I, Waleed, Polok (Waleed's brother) Aries, Charm, Alecs, Eya, Toffee and the Yaya of Toffee in the car. We had to leave first because the other guys will be leaving in the afternoon and probably we will be seeing them at night.

It was like 3-4 hour ride going to Nasugbu. So we arrived at the town around 9ish. We stopped by the wet market to buy some fish, veggies, rice, eggs and some other condiments and some more food to sustain us for our camping. It took us almost an hour and 30 minutes to finish the groceries and make another 30 minute - 40 minute ride on a rough road going to Eya's house.

It was almost 11am and THEY had to cook and prepare food for us to bring to the island. I SLEPT in the whole process of the cooking and preparing by the way lol! And I woke up around 2pm and I saw everyone sleeping too. So I had to wake them up because it is already afternoon and we might miss the afternoon beach thing. So we all packed up the food and went to the Pier in a secluded part of the mountain (which is scary because it was all rough roads and we had to go to the nearby pier where we are going to ride a boat going to Papaya Island.

Since the boat man is a friend of Eya's we had the boat like back and forth to fetch us and bring our other friends to Papaya Island. It is a 10-15 minute ride on the clear waters of Nasugbu. By the way with all the stop overs and the baggage thingie where we had to carry our stuff to the boat took us another 30-40 minutes. So we all arrived to the beach around 5pm. Just in time to see the sunset.

After getting all our stuff from the boat, we tried to settle in a nice spot and ate our LUNCH at 5pm. Then it was almost 6 and we had to set up our tent.

I had the feeling that I'm going to be pissed off because it was my first time to set up a tent and I have NO IDEA. Prior to that I should have googled it you know. BUT NO. So yeah the bottom line is that I wasted too much time in setting up the tent and took 4 people to do it bust still failed. But I think it's still nice manageable.

We had fish for dinner and some mussels and labahita.  Oh Gosh! All I can say is that every minute was worth it. Just sitting on the shore talking and laughing and by night it was a war of rain and mosquitoes. It was all good. Quite fun actually being away from the city and all and just being the survivor type.

I'll continue with part II next. Have to go now ;-)
