Kebab

When I was a kid my parents used to bring me to this place in Delta (or was it West Ave) for some hummus and pita bread. I find it really amazing because it was just bread and we dip it in different stuff. We had some cheese and sour cream dips too.  Although that place has been gone like years ago, I wanted to find that taste that I have been craving for. I love boyfriend so much for taking me to different restaurants and having a taste of Middle Eastern Cuisine.  What I love most is the World Class Persian Kebab. Its affordable and its 24 hours. So whenever I crave some Shawarma or Biryani at 2am boyfriend drives me to E-Rodriguez for some middle east fix.

P.S. I apologize for this images. They are all from my phone and I promised to blog 'em first before posting new ones / better quality ones. =)

This is not all, we order the usual, the yogurt drink, the ox brain, hummus and pita and more shawarma. So much for a midnight snack. Our tab (just for the 2 of us) is a little less than 300 pesos. :)

 Must visit this soon.=]

There's something about K-Food

One one of our food escapades with my officemates during the weekends. I remember meeting up with Kathy who was really off the roof because of certain things. We met up with her at Robinsons Galleria before coffee at Starbucks in Silver City in Ortigas.

We ate at this korean restaurant (which I forgot the name because it was located near the entrance/exit of the mall).

What amazes me is how many complimentary dishes they give away. For one this is not my first experience in dining in a Korean Restaurant. There is this restaurant in Don Antonio which seems to have closed down which gives alot  of free dishes.I remember dining there with my Dad and Jelly after hitting the gym.

I think every k-resto varies on what they are giving away. In this case we had sprouts. Just plain sprouts.

I thought this was pineapple but it's  cassava or something.

Will Kimchi be missed out?

A dish I absolutely love. Jap Chae. I love noodles and this is love. Glass noodles is sesame oil and seeds with the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. LOVE.

Their "bento" meal consisting of jap chae, egg, kimchi, beef strips and some side dish.

Their version of "Katsudon"

And the likes of Maki. But this one has ham and egg.

I Cook!

Although I call this YellowCab which sounds like, hoping that I get the spelling correctly, Dianolokan.
This is a Maranao dish that I certainly love eating. I can still remember that the boyfriend and I used to travel all the way to Quiapo for me to be able to taste this dish. Unfortunately he doesn't know how to cook this. Fortunately, his sister came from Iloilo and was able to teach me this dish which I know prepare whenever I crave so.
It's like curry but it's not since most of their dishes has turmeric powder. There is something with Maranao dishes that I really love. Maybe because I looove spicy food.

So what I did is that I got some garlic, bell pepper, onion, ginger and chopped em.

So in a pan I saute the chopped garlic, onions and ginger. Then I drop the chicken with Turmeric powder and bring it to a boil. and season it with salt and pepper. The chicken will produce its own juice and will cook itself. I bring in a cup or two of hot water and bring it to boil until the chicken absorbs it and dries.

I have the shredded coconut mixed with turmeric powder until everything is covered.
in a separate pan I saute the remaining garlic ginger onion and some palapa onion leaves and chili.
Then I mix the shredded coconut and when everything is mixed and the right amount of spiciness, I mix in the chicken.

This is what you get. =) It's sooo yellow I call it Yellow Cab. So I feed my hungry people. Yum!

It's just weird that I don't know how to cook the regular dishes but aced this one. I'm more into baking and pasta and other stuff. But the Pinoy food... I give it to my mum and brother's girlfriend. =D

My My @ TOSH

I forgot what type of pasta this is. I think like in Marinara

Dessert Sampler consisting of icecream cake and some swirled pancake and chocolate mousse

Which I totally forgot again but I didn't enjoy.

Yes... the best seller and tasted like Kariman :)

Reminiscing the Valentines date that I had over a year ago with a foodie friend at The Old Spaghetti House. :)

When Pizza was a staple food.

Pizza Hut Bistro's Ravioli

Buffalo Wings

Viva Pizza

Just a Photo blog before I push myself to the grocery today. I'm craving for Maranao food and gonna cook myself some chicken today.

This one was when we were suppose to have a team building with the Mr. Wilson. However the classic part was when everyone was in the office around 10am he came around 2ish or 2ish. You will be missed. =P
In every celebration there should always be pizza

Uncle Cheffy

It was crazy! Last weekend, I was given free VIP tickets for 2NE1 concert. Well first it started out not so right since bringing the SLR is not allowed in Araneta. I dragged my friend since my other friend was not able to make it. It felt surreal because it feels like you are inside a korean show or something. ALOT of luminous sticks that are being sold for 150 pesos and it really looks cute and awesome in the dark whenever people swayed along with the music. Just a short description about the concert, 2NE1 rocked the stage for 30 minutes. Say thank you if you bought 8k tickets. Alot of pinoy artists started the show and it's awesome. Christian Bautista, Callalily, Philippine Allstars and some other artists which I seem to forget. (alot huh!)

So after the show, boyfriend picked me up and we had our late dinner in Cubao. We ended up dining at Uncle Cheffy. They were giving away 10% discount. Their meals are for sharing and yummy too!

Beef ribs with potato and salad.

The beef literally melts in your mouth. For 300 pesos, the serving is huge and delicious and I really loved it! We took some home because we could not finish the whole thing.

Along with the beef ribs, 3 types of dips were served. Salsa like dip, butter with olive oil and seems to be like basil or parsley and mild ketchup like slash bbq sauce.

Uncle Cheffy Panizza. about 200ish pesos

You can really taste every element. I love how you roll it with alfalfa and lettuce and tomatoes.

What you roll with it.

Good food. Good times. Awesome.

Boodle kaboodle

Once again, alot of long due posts because of really busy work schedule. Some of you might have wondered why I posted the pictures first without any entries. It's because I really can't find time to edit the entry from work (oh yes,,, the computer policies and all that). Anyway, for some reason, the 2 Team Leaders treated a post dinner post breakfast pre-sleep gastronomic experience at 2:00 am at Seafood Island. Apologies for the pictures but I do promise to get a point and shoot camera this month or so.

On a chilly Saturday morning, when the rain would not stop at all, a "boodle" was laid down infront of our eyes. Resting on top of a huge rectangular shaped tray of banana leaves, we are all ready to dig in.

I could not help but focus on that not so huge crab when the boodle was served. Cooked in coconut milk with a right kick of chili.

This boodle costs around 1,400 php which is good for 4 people. In our case we were 6.  But im pretty sure this is not enough for 6 super hungry people with big appetite. Good thing I just wanted to taste everything.

You can choose to eat on a plate or eat on the banana leaf  (which you should because it's how it should be).

You\ll have Clam Soup, Crab in coconut milk, Lain, pinaputok na Tilapia,Bicol express, grilled shrimps (4) BBQ and some side dish of green mangoes and onion with bagoong.

I\m so sorry for posting your faces here. =) It's just to compare how huge the boodle is. =P

We were under these colorful pieces of cloth hanging on top and totally ruined the color of what we have ordered displaying orangey pictures. (Im not a flash person =[ )
Bicol express

Clam Soup

Everything in these boodle has coconut on it. Well not really but the crab, the laing and the pork has. for 1400 I think it's just okay. I enjoyed the food but it was lacking something. Im looking for a memorable experience and ony the crab and the bagoong made it's "I remember moments"

Maybe I'll go back to try some of their menu.
