CDO Diaries : Jatico

The next day after Alecs and Jhex arrived, we had the afternoon for Jatico. Since everything is just random and unorganized, Instead of few hours to Bukidnon, we headed to Jatico instead. I checked their site and it says that there is 150php roundtrip transfers from Divisoria to the park. However we were only 5 and they won't schedule a trip. BB... who knows somebody who knows somebody who owns something.. thankfully we were able to get a ride going to Jatico and back to Divisoria.

So while we wait for our ride, we stayed at Park Cafe and I was able to take pictures of this lovely pastry shop and super evil cupcakes from The Sweet Shop. Too bad I wasn't able to buy a piece since we were all geared up for our adventure.

CDO Diaries: Inilog Grill

Wednesday night when some of our friends arrived after the Missy Bon Bon dessert comes first, we had a late dinner at Inilog Grill. Like Dear Manok, the place is just enormous... more like spacious. I really don't have a decent picture of the place because it reminds me of the glow in the dar bar in Boracay. So what I thought was that this place is like more of drinks less food but hey! I was wrong! They have a sink which for a minute will make you feel dumb because you have to step on a button on the floor to have water.

Just like Dear Manok, we ordered the same meal plus squids. Again, for less than a hundred bucks you have chicken bbq and unli rice.  Enjoy your meal while live performance from locals keep you on the mood. BB said that the guy who performs there is the same guy while he was still in college. That must be a living :)

Check out my glow in the dark plate!

Hello Chicken...

I wasn't kidding when I said it was like the menu in Dear Manok. For a little less than 300 pesos another bulalo night.

Calamares on the side

Sizzling Pusit

Everything tastes so damn good and the price is just reasonable. Food is reasonably priced and good that I wish there are these types in Manila. This is one thing I like about CDO. FOOD, Chillax life and one hell of vacation.

So yeah after that we had karaoke for 3 hours for 180 pesos an hour. The room is just big with disco balls and internet. I love it there I swear.

CDO Diaries: Missy Bon Bon

Another reason for me to fall inlove with CDO is Missy Bon Bon. I promise you that they have the best pastry in town. On our second night, we hung out at Missy Bon Bon located outside Lim Ket Kai Mall, adjacent to Starbucks. I can only imagine girls hanging out in this place but I was surprised that old folks who looks like rich business men hold their meeting nights over coffee.
During weekends, there are trivia nights and it's fun to come over with the family.Only because I wanted to try their gelato as suggested by BB's brother, I swooned over their sweet pastries on the racks. It was one sugar overload night.

Warning picture overload! :)

Look how cute their logo is. :) Makes me feel like I'm in a different place. Everything is super dainty!

You'd have to wait for this. They have buy 1 take 1 during weeknights. It is definitely worth it!

I went crazy over their gelato station. Look how pretty they are!  Good thing you can select 3 flavors in one big cup. It aint that pricey either.

Want a taste of their blueberry cheesecake and other refrigerator cakes? I wasn't able to take note of the 2 other cups :(

Hooorayy for breads, smores bar, peanut brittle bars, revel bars and loaves and everything sweet!

Looks pretty yay! :) And I tell you it tastes heavenlyyy!

Say hello to my Chocolate Mint - Mixed Berries Yogurt - Peanut Butter Fudge!
Peanut Butter Fudge for the WIN!!!!

I just had to take a picture of it. :)

Now now here are our choices. L-R (Chocolate on Chocolate sponge cake with Chocolate Syrup and powdered sugar, Mocha Sandwhich,Cheese Roll, Chocolate Chip Muffin, I forgot what it's called and Smores Bar my favorite!)

Waiting for our drinks

Look at that evil goodness.

Mocha Bar Sandwich

Smores. Graham on chocolate topped with Marshmallows and peanut. I DIED.

Just can't get over their logo :) I even removed it and placed it on my diary.

Huge Chocolate muffin with lots and lots of chocolate Chips.

BB's Mocha Shake. Topped with Thick LIKE REALLY THICK Whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.

So dainty dainty chairs and wooden floors. Check out the fence!

Sugar Rush!!

CDO Diaries : Dear Manok

Hi ya'll. I have been on a week long vacation in Cagayan de Oro. Time there is really slow and life is awesome! I have been there a couple of times already and I tell you that I'm in love with the place. Not only that the beach is a few minutes aways, everything is relaxing. On our first day we did a lot of things already. Met up with BB's friends, brothers and cousins. It was a long day and I started whinning about not going back to Manila anymore.

We left Manila like this:

And we arrived like this:

It was really raining hard in the afternoon till late night. But this is what you will wake up for. :) Mornings are hot though and the sun can burn your skin. I love the hotel we are staying at because it will give you a nice view of the city. We stayed there for 6 days and it was awessssssome I tell you!

Moving forward, the first night we had our dinner at Dear Manok with BB's friends and brother and gf. It's a really nice place and really cheap!

Sorry for the pixelated photos. I only have my phone with me that time and forgot to bring the camera.

Dear Manok serves of course everything Halal. I see no pork in their menu as far as I can remember.
The place reminds me of Bulalo Fiesta but way better. Ambiance is totally Filipino and not too crowded either considering it is a huge place.

We ordered grilled chicken and Bulalo. Yes... UNLI RICE! Hoooraaay!

So while we wait for our order I took some pictures of the place.

They have their own water falls on a wall. lol!

Here comes the Bulalo! Its just around more than 300 pesos I think. Really huge serving and soft meat and I can still remember how delicious it was. I LOVE!!

And of course my piece of chicken. :)  BBQ Chicken is the best! For 85 php and unli rice its just the best I had! (for that day since there are more places we dined at :) )

Happy Eating!

Break Out : Day 1 Review

Hey guys! I know this is sort of my food blog but I can't help but blog about other things too. :) So yes I am going to take reviews and post some other girly girly stuff here from my monthly hauls. But for now, let me focus with what every girl has to go through... Breakouts! I honestly have alot of purchases and research about what the best acne spot treatment or cleansers there is. Since I work in Eastwood, Watsons is my sort of heaven.

This is the week that I am starting to break out. I tried to lay off the chicken which I think is one of the biggest contributor to my break outs. And I can't miss PMS which is another factor. Whats horrific is that it only appears on the left side of my face. Just like any other girl, I sorely wish that this will disappear overnight. I have gone through some spot gels that worked a bit and alot of astringent and even TOOTHPASTE I tell you.

But here I am making myself as guinea pig (lol!) to see if things would work. I dont have alot of bucks to spend for a dermatologist. But so I heard, diamond peel does a great job with smoothing out the pores. Anyway, today during my lunch break. I went to Watsons to grab a few stuff.

I love Celeteque.  My first purchase is the acne toner early this year. I have super sensitive and oily skin which means I am prone to acne/pimples. I dont know but I also blame the radiation from the computer screen :) (hey it's just me!) I tried to use it and it was able to fight pimples form comming back. I also feel that my face has this smooth texture but rubbery (pardon my description that's the closest that I can think of!).

My second purchase is this eye brightening cream for dark circles which amazingly works well for me. I have included it in my must have's!

So to begin my test (this is day 1) and I have finished my night routine. I like changing from one product to another that works. Because there were a few products that works in the beginning but you become immune in the end. My current favorite facial wash is by Eskinol.  It's not the soapy type like bubbles and everything. Faint medicinal smell too by the way. So yes, step 1.

Since I have the toner (half the bottle already) my step 2 now is dabbing toner on cotton balls and apply it on my face. You can really see the dirt left and will give you a matte feeling.

I apply the Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel.
What I rant about moisturizers is that my face ends up super oily and you feel that there is something sticky on your face. But this one... I have to say... makes my face feel matte and moisturized. And as I type this, I tried to feel my skin and it is smooth and not greasy at all.

Last step.
Acne Spot Corrector Gel.
I applied to the affected areas and the first feeling is that it has a cooling effect on the skin.
I'll check tomorrow if the bumps has subside.

And that leaves us with day 1. I'll monitor and see how it will go by tomorrow. My concern is to have the bumps subside. I'll be on a week long vacation and wouldn't want pictures to have bumps in it lol!

But again, to prevent such, we always have to watch what we eat.

By the way, when I mentioned about switching from one product to another this is how our dresser look like. My mum and I share it :) Need to get get organized.

See you day 2.

Saturday : I-Cook! - Wings Night

Hey Stranger! How was your weekend? Believe it or not, I was trying to blog since Saturday night but my connection was dreadful. I can go youtube but not attach images here. So I had to wait to get a decent internet connection which is today.

This weekend was totally a lazy one. I was stuck in bed youtube-ing the whole day and reviewing some of my new purchases. I also have a project which I was inspired to do but will blog about it very soon. Meanwhile my plans of overhauling my blog is still in progress. I think im half busy and half lazy but most of the time LAZY to do some changes.

Anyway back to what the title is all about. Saturday night while browsing and watching AFC, the guy was making some mashed potatoes. I dragged le boyfriend to Shopwise to pick up some stuff so we can have dinner. I swear... Im really going to fly. I have been eating chicken for 2 weeks now. :|

]

Anyhoo. this is really easy to prepare and addicting. :) I love Bon Chon and some other restaurants serving wings. But the price can be very very expensive. for 6 pcs of wings (meaning 3 pieces for wings cut into half) is a little less than 200 pesos.

I bought 10 pcs of wings which costs 121 pesos (169php per kilo) which makes 20 pcs of "wings".

So first (no picture available), I cleaned and peeled 5 medium sized potatoes. After that, I cut them into small pieces. I have boiling water ready so I just drop them so that it will be faster to cook. I season it with a little salt.

Next, I have the wings prepared and cleaned. Cut them into half and have my pan ready.

I have my  breading ready.

Then fry them wings until golden brown.

So once I have fried all my wings, I place them on top of some tissues to drain the excess oil and rest them. Then I get my potatoes and place them on a big bowl, add half cup of butter and black pepper. then mash them. Dust with a little salt to find that taste and drizzle with milk to have that puree effect.

Going back to the wings, mix a generous amount of your choice of sauce.
Then lastly, some gravy to top the potatoes.

How did you spend your Saturday night?

Happy eating!

xoxo
