Tagaytay part 1 : Bag of Beans

After a random plan to go to the beach to make Ruth's work-vacation the best and worth it, we made it happen. Friday after work, we all waited for Eya to fetch us. We went to Edsa-Shang to pick up Ruth and headed to Tagaytay for Bag of Beans. The place reminds me of Pan de Amerikana. The place is lovely and cozy.

We arrived around 7am and the place seems to be a little busy as people started comming in to have breakfast. They have a buffet which I have not asked about. We were so focused with what we were going to get and it took some time before we can get our order.

There are tables and couches situated on each side. It's like you are in a garden enjoying the cold breeze and a little sunlight.
Everything seem's to be surreal.

Fountain

The adorable Mayna which knows how to mimic everything!

Huge Love Bird's cage

The Buddah from the entrance area dining place.

Bag of Beans

Sample Menu

Im addicted to the pancake syrup.

I am inlove with their sea shell decors.

The breakfast sampler. Ham, 2 hashbrowns, Pancake, bacon and sausage and eggs.
I call it the monster breakfast. Can make you feel full for the whole day.

Sunrise breakfast. 2 pancakes, scrambled egg with cheese and sausage and slices of orange.
This is super filling that I couldnt finish the whole thing.

Ruth has Bacon and eggs.

Mango Juice.

One Happy Sleepless bunch.

I would definitely go back because the price and portion is very resonable. The ambience is lovely and cozy. It's the best place to have breakfast and just feel the cold air against your skin while hearing the birds chirp and while the Mayna makes you laugh. The staff is very accommodating.

9-10-11: Mercato Centrale

Friday! Technically Saturday (if that even makes sense). It was after work and we are all thinking if we should be joining the people going to Mercato Centrale. We found the reason why we should join them. Chris told me they serve ice cream. I have been raving for something different the whole week and this can be the answer. Together with the SDMs and Managers we headed to The Fort for a midnight gluttony.

The challenge was to make John and Ruth eat  street foods and pinoy delicacies. I think I saw Ruth eating Siopao (not pinoy but yes loved by) which we called SioMeow explaining that there is a possibility of having cat meat inside. Some Ilocos empanada and the famous Manang's chicken which we forgot to take picture of. I also saw John braving the Blood Stew a.k.a Dinuguan.

Manang's chicen is wins on all the wings I have tasted! double fried with your choice of sauce from mild to spicy!

Even though there was a wide spread of internal organs, it shows on their faces how sick it is to try and eat any of it.

The food selection I guess compared to Banchetto is quite fancy. The prices too for some are really expensive. Like the long stick of Fish Balls costs 50php and Siomai costs 45php 4 pcs. Street food is even pricier. The usual 5 pesos per stick costs more. But I think its better to buy here. I am thinking that these are well cleaned rather from your usual street vendor.

As we scanned the whole place, Eya and I saw Snow Cones and had to get one each! I had apple and Eya chose Bubblegum which by the way tasted like cough syrup. The one I had reminds me of Slush Puppies. Apple flavor delish! John sounded like a parent when he saw us with snow cones. "That's not proper food!"

There were lots of food to choose from but I was not in the mood to eat that time and I was on a mission. Well we are on a mission. To taste smething different for the night. Before that, what caught my eye was this cheesy potatoes.  Very flavorful and I can still remember the taste. yum yum yum!

And now it's time for Merry Moo!
They offer a variety of unique flavored ice cream.

Merry Moo

Menu

Brown Bread and Candied Bacon

Strawberry Basil and Pistachio Mango

We got Candied Bacon and Sea Salt Caramel

The verdict? I wish DQ has this kind of ice cream flavors. Very rich and creamy. The Candied Bacon tasted like vanilla ice cream with Bacon bits. It was weird at first but very very delicious. I think Ruth liked it. I was raving for their Sea Salt Caramel ice cream. You can really taste the saltiness and the caramel. The war between sweet and saltiness. The taste  complimented each. It tasted like coffee but it's not.

That ended the trip. Awesomeness.

Credits to Chris Deles for all the photos.

Lanvin

I have this total obsession with perfumes. I have 15-20 bottles of different perfumes.  One of my favorite is Eclat D'Arpege. Because of the fruity flowery fresh scent I am totally inlove with this one. I first purchased this lavander potion looking bottle 4 years ago and I have a little left. Which reminds me to write up on my wish list.

I heart Lanvin specially their Lanvin x H&M collection. Specially when I saw this one shouldered dress and I am still wondering if I can get one and which occassion.

Isn't that the prettiest thing ever. <3

Then I stumbled on this....

Makes me even more inlove. Very cute!

RFTA (Random Food THEY Ate)

Yes... They! Last night we made John, one of our Service Managers from the UK eat balut (a fertilized duck egg).

(photo from philippinesfoodrecipes.blogspot.com)

It was horrible. I mean I don't eat balut that's why it's horrible. He was lucky he got the small chick and ate it whole. He was trying me make me eat one too. I think I'm going to faint then die.

So if Ruth, another Service Manager eats one on Monday, then fine I'll TRY to crack one too.

This is not awesomeness.

Saturday on Sandy's Pizza

My office friends and I went out last weekend for some food and movie. We were so excited to watch Zombadings and unfortunately J didn't show up on time because he was still in the grocery. Anyhoo, we settled for Sandy's pizza instead since we were all hungry.

Sandy's Pizza if I am correct is owned by Gabby Concepcion's sister. Sandy's Pizza is located along Katipunan Avenue (going to White Plains). The place is relatively small and can fit up around 8-10 people. When we settled in, we had 2 tables together. I'm thinking that the lady in the cashier is having a bad day. She was a bit grumpy and did not go to the table and just waited on her chair. Unlike the other staff guys, who are so nice and cheerful.

Hello Sandy's!

Behind this wallis the kitchen

The only, I wouldn't say bad thing but comment about Sandy's Pizza is that they do not server water.
I was so dehydrated and I want a glass of water. So I asked the cashier and told me that they do not server any type of water. I should buy from them.  WTH!?

So fine, for a small bottle of water which costs 25 pesos.
The cost of hydration.

And I finally knew why they do not serve water.

They simply want us to buy for him.
25 pesos because he has his face on it. Great.

We ordered some buffalo wings which is great. Not that spicy and I love the sauce that comes with it.
Yum yum yum. I think I'm craving for more!

We also ordered their pasta I do not know what this one is called. Nothing special.

We talk pizza!
14" of Half sardines pizza (really good!) and meatzerella.

Generous serving of mozerella on the pizza. Love it!

Margherita and Pepperoni.

Verdict: The pizzas are great. Check Metro Deal they have the pasta and pizza for 50% off I think.

One happy bunch!

Awesomeness.

Random Thoughts: My Papa

Yes. My Papa. I Miss you and Love you so much! I wanna hear your voice again and laughter.
One day we will see each other again. ='(

My Papa spoils me with love and knowledge. He doesn't really spoil us with material things. It is something that I am really proud of.  I am really the one spoiling them with stuff. I don't ask any money or random things because it's a trend or something. I remember how I struggled to finish my thesis in college and was really stressed out on how to buy a ream of bond paper. I wanted that my expenses should come from my allowance. I even tried to get a job while studying so I can buy more inks and paper for my thesis. I was crying and he asked me why. I told him I don't have any money to buy papers and I don't want to ask a single cent from him.  He said he was going to give me a couple of hundreds but I dont really want to.

Chicken Afritada

Thank you to all those who came. 1 year... since my dad left us. I chose not to be really detailed right now with what I feel. I know I will be crying with bucket of tears. But I thank God for all his blessings and the grace he showered upon us through rough times. God has really shown miracles in our everyday life. Thank you Lord!

Something that I realized today which came from BB. He was watching a movie (Ten Commandments) last night and he remembered the part where it was said "So it was written, So it Shall be done"

Our lives are already written.
