MoMo is Love

It's 3 am, Thursday. I'm still wide awake because of coffee. I don't think I can wake up early later but I have to hit the sack in a while. Im going to accompany W to the doctor to have his checkup. Starbucks wasn't a good idea on a lunch break. The barista made a terrible terrible coffee mix. It was so bitter that I had to share my Grande cup of cafe mocha with Jamie. Angel had white chocolate and it was bitter too. So she also shared some with Jamie. In the end, we were all feeling hyper. I kept standing from my cubicle and going to Angel and Jamie.

Anyhoo this is a great time to upload some stuff. Last Thursday, IM went on a Team Dinner at MoMo Cafe. I only have my trusty cellphone with me and a hungry stomach. Since it's a 1 hour dinner only (which did not happen) We had to choose already what to order so that once we settled in the place we just have to wait for a few minutes for our food to arrive.

I love the place. it's cozy and I think it's a great place for a nice huge meal to share with,

 Complimentary appetizer

Here comes the complimentary bread and dip. The spread I think is pimiento or something. Anyway I read on a food blog about the blogger's experience regarding the bread and I was ready for it. I thought they just serve it while you are waiting for your meal to arrive. I actually asked the waiter if I can have some more and yes he gave me more.

MoMo in Eastwood is kinda small. I was wondering where all the dishes are prepared. But the ambiance is great.
Grilled Pesto Chicken , Bacon and Apple Caesar Caesar
(200++php)

We thought this salad is good for one actually 6 of us shared it. It's  really in a huge salad serving

Mango Macapuno Shake

Eya ordered a Mango Macapuno shake. Hmmm I wonder how it tastes. Never bothered to ask her. But since it's mango I think its sweet.

Frozen Strawberry Iced Tea
this one's for me and it is served in a really tall glass.

Sweet & Smokey. Hickary BBQ Rib-LETS

Their platters are good for sharing. We ordered "Sweet & Smokey. Hickary BBQ Rib-LETS" It was a bit dry. The flavor was only in the outside. An okay okay dish. it has onion rings, corn and rice on the side. Not a big thing. I think I'd remember Burgoo's platter instead.

Old Fashioned Beer Battered Fish and Chips

Now this one is a must try! If you love fish. Try ordering their Fish and Chips version. It has vinegar and corn and "twister fries" and potato wedges on the side. Of course squeeze in some lemon  or dip in tar tar sauce but the Dory fish didn't give a hint of the fishy taste on it. So I guess they did a great job on the fish. Plus the fact that its an enormous fillet. Must try!

"Grandma's Country herb and Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf"
(400ish)

We were looking for the gravy and when wee asked the waiter, she said that it has already been poured over the meat loaf. The veggies on the side were cooked with olive oil. I wasn't a fan of the meat loaf. It was dry and the flavor is kinda everywhere. I really didn't enjoy this one.

So after the meal we asked for our bill and the waitress gave us our free choc-nuts. =)
I was full until the following day. I will certainly go back to MoMo  <3

It's like Im Paralyzed

January is really as busy as my December and November. For one, Ive been waking up everyday to go to work and Ive been skipping some of the "Things to Do (A MUST)". If a planner and a diary can't organize my life and schedule for a bit then I think im lost at this point.

Im so excited getting a new laptop which I'm saving up for. It will be for my Ugly Betty dvd marathon. Kidding aside. Well actually, time to get a new one. But I don't know if I have to wait for the shipment or I'd rather buy here which is x2 the price OR get a netbook instead. But what I need is actually a huge one for my everyday stuff. Anyhoo... i have to be patient. Well like they said, patience is a virtue. I hope I have that virtue.

Again if I may rant, I can't post any pictures here because there's no java in this stubborn computer. Once I get home, I rather hit the sack or finish a book than go online (since I've been spending like most of my hours here at work online). So I have done alot of researching on how to go on with work and my sideline and I think Im stuck in the middle and I don't know where to start.

Moving on...

Tops dresses and Make Up.

Ive been hoarding stuff like a crazy woman. Aside from the 4x a year or maybe 5x a year cosmetics that we get from my grandmums from L.A., I started getting my own from here. I even bought a 88 eye shadow palette online and havent used it yet. HAHA! Well it's actually for a project. Well at least my heart is contented to what I got.

Hopefully this will not jinx where I am at right now, our first collection has been sold out. Yes, the tops the dresses and the shirts. We are off to our second collection. I really havent gone online marketing yet but hopefully soon. I have to do sample designs now and see where it goes. W said I should think of a name.

I should stop here. Im still on the dilemma on getting that MAC Lady Gaga lipstick. Is it worth it? Plus need to get the laptop real soon.

Everything is so cluttered. X(

Hep Hep!

Using a crappy computer at work isn't fun at all. In the middle of doing my reports / computer works I wanted to blog how irritating a colleague is. Or maybe something that I overheard. Or how my day went through. OR wanting to make reviews on a certain product/food/place.

But this wont happen here. This computer does not any capabilities for java stuff which I, Rachel is irritated most. The point is, I can't post any pictures. I must go on and on but I can only put words on this thing. I even spent 30 minutes on "googling" images for my post and yes... I can't even post it.

This is my chance not to post pictures but make a review on people instead. Words can give you a clear picture instead.

I am totally irritated by the other cubicle- mate's laugh. IT's horrible. It sounds like an ogre half human with lots of phlegm trying to sound funny when he is not. (as I type he is effin laughing again).

I also noticed that there are some people trying to fit in. Literally trying to fit in. You can really smell "jealousy" / "Envy" miles away. Just because it's a fad does not mean it'll suit you. Pink is not your color. you have a bad set of _ _ _ _ _ . Maybe because they are way hotter than you (face the reality, and correction you are not even "hot" if thats what you think) can give you the authority to feel bad about yourself. (yes! feel horrible about yourself! You are not a Victoria's Secret Model!). You even look like a "matrona" - everything overheard.

Call that mean but I kinda agree. You have a weird personality and all tweet tums but I on the other hand is "Curvy, fabulous and fiesty" (oh the self insulting compliments :) which I can say I KNOW.)

Moving forward...

I noticed that planners and diaries are all around. Im not going for the Starbucks planner because I stay away from Frappes and chocolate drizzles which is sinful. Some people I know, are all over.Racing to complete the sticker card to get their planner. Yeah, its velvety nice but I like my Belle de Jour planner because for one, it's not all coffee coupons. Alot actually that you can get for free. The catch is you have to spend. But I don't mind spending if I get more on what I should spend.

I also got a seperate diary. The purpose of having one is that 1) it saves me alot of time than logging and typing what I have in mind for an instant and scribble everything I have in mind. Also, I can put everything in there from the genius mind.

Wait gotta go now and defend a friend.

One Sunday

I spent the day with the family for a Sunday bonding time. We went to Technohub for some lunch/dinner and ended up goofing around the colorful "orbs" there. We ate at Kanin Club. This was the second time however I really didnt blog about it. With my trusty camera and on a tight budget we started ordering.

Last time we had (oh gosh I remember my dad. I treated him here for his birthday) tempura, pad thai, kare kare, green mango salad, crispy pata and probably one huge pot of  rice. =P

The food experience was nice that time. Although the service was quite terrible on lunch time. The waiter was clumsy spilling water on our table and imagine probably 20 tables with 3 waiters only. So imagine the time it took for your order to come, get a refill of your iced tea and following up your order. A bad experience on the service really, but the food is fantastic. I promised to come back and here it is.

I never ate dinuguan but they kept their promise about their best seller, "Crispy Dinuguan". My brother ordered it since he was very curious about the dish. I must say that this is one sinful dish. I on the other hand ordered Crispy Tadyang which is beef. The beef really kinda melts itself why you get a portion of it. It is soft in the inside and the right amount of crisp without burning the beef. The kare kare was good, you can really taste the peanuts and the sauce is thick.

We also ordered Hototay soup, which I really didnt enjoy that much. Maybe because I was hoping that it would taste salty and tangy at the same time. But hey my taste buds I think was looking for sinigang and not that soup. But the amount of seafood and vegetables in the soup is really worth it.

After our lunch/dinner, we headed to the bookstore. My mum went up to check for cookbooks for my cousin and aunt (check out Manila Machine in LA) and I on the other hand went to check out books which can be a good read. I got Maneater.

Since I already starting my business I got a self help book to learn more about what I got myself into. It's just funny how I started it. We'll I just hope im doing a great start.

I also got a book on how to teach new tricks for dogs. I bought it for my dog. I hope she reads it. =D *toink*

They also gave us a discount on the books that we got. Leaving the bookstore with a huge smile on our face.

After the bookstore, we went to CDR-King and tricked my brother on buying me a tripod. Which was so nice of him getting me one.  But I realized I was going to get us some coffee afterwards. But thats a good exchange I guess. After getting stuff from cdrking we got a fix of our frapps in Starbucks and enjoyed the orbs in technohub.

So thats it for the Sunday. Back to work. gotta sleep now its 5am.  xo

December

I haven't written alot lately. I would love to look back everything that happened this year and it's not so nice. It feels like in the movies, and I don't like the drama. In a short span of time alot has happened and things you regret, but in the end you realize that things happen for a reason.

My dad died on August 30, 2010.20 days after his birthday. 20 days after that dreadful night of extending my patience while I fight back. Things do happen for a reason. Probably when God wanted to get my dad off this earth, he wanted me to be there.

Everyday, I would stare on his place in our garden. Greet him when I get home and say my goodbyes when leaving. Having my mental thoughts of him always saying the words "Mag ingat ka palagi" Having that mental picture of him at the door carrying my dog while bidding goodbye. Thoughts were only left that make me sad. That my plans for him will never happen. That deep inside I have this regret of not giving him what he wanted. I was planning to give it this Christmas but it was too late. I don't want to get drowned in this sorrow and Im going to leave everything behind. I miss him so much and all I can do now is stare at pictures and wear his big shirts. Thats the closest I can get to be with him. I'll see him in the future.

So this year is great in a lot of ways. Great emotions and other things. I don't want to go on details already. 4 more days until the next year. start fresh. I hope everythings gonna be okay and great. First things first. I have alot of things to do but really dont have time to actually materialize it. Okay how about finally applying for that visa so I can finally be with my grandmums? They are the the least that I have left as close as my grand mum... When everyone leaves the earth. =(

Oh Well....

Nasugbu Trip Part 1

I was supposed to blog about the Batangas Escapade we had. The camping and all those things. But then it was such a busy week, month, day... because of work and running errands. ( This paragraph was last 23rd.)

Okay so now I changed my mind and I promise to finish this TODAY. Get ready silent readers.

Earlier this month, we went to Nasugbu for our first beach experience this year. I have to tell you that everything was like my "first time".

It all started I think it was labor day or something.  We all agreed to meet up and leave around 5am. But of course being the Filipino in the Filipino Time we left quarter to six.

It was I, Waleed, Polok (Waleed's brother) Aries, Charm, Alecs, Eya, Toffee and the Yaya of Toffee in the car. We had to leave first because the other guys will be leaving in the afternoon and probably we will be seeing them at night.

It was like 3-4 hour ride going to Nasugbu. So we arrived at the town around 9ish. We stopped by the wet market to buy some fish, veggies, rice, eggs and some other condiments and some more food to sustain us for our camping. It took us almost an hour and 30 minutes to finish the groceries and make another 30 minute - 40 minute ride on a rough road going to Eya's house.

It was almost 11am and THEY had to cook and prepare food for us to bring to the island. I SLEPT in the whole process of the cooking and preparing by the way lol! And I woke up around 2pm and I saw everyone sleeping too. So I had to wake them up because it is already afternoon and we might miss the afternoon beach thing. So we all packed up the food and went to the Pier in a secluded part of the mountain (which is scary because it was all rough roads and we had to go to the nearby pier where we are going to ride a boat going to Papaya Island.

@ the shore loading our stuff to the boat

Since the boat man is a friend of Eya's we had the boat like back and forth to fetch us and bring our other friends to Papaya Island. It is a 10-15 minute ride on the clear waters of Nasugbu. By the way with all the stop overs and the baggage thingie where we had to carry our stuff to the boat took us another 30-40 minutes. So we all arrived to the beach around 5pm. Just in time to see the sunset.

Sunset at Papaya Island

After getting all our stuff from the boat, we tried to settle in a nice spot and ate our LUNCH at 5pm. Then it was almost 6 and we had to set up our tent.

I had the feeling that I'm going to be pissed off because it was my first time to set up a tent and I have NO IDEA. Prior to that I should have googled it you know. BUT NO. So yeah the bottom line is that I wasted too much time in setting up the tent and took 4 people to do it bust still failed. But I think it's still nice manageable.

We had fish for dinner and some mussels and labahita.  Oh Gosh! All I can say is that every minute was worth it. Just sitting on the shore talking and laughing and by night it was a war of rain and mosquitoes. It was all good. Quite fun actually being away from the city and all and just being the survivor type.

I'll continue with part II next. Have to go now ;-)

Love Letter (Part 2)

I was going to post about  our Bank Holiday trip to Nasugbu. But I'll do that some other time. I really tried to make an entry about it but I'm so busy that I havent finished the whole thing. Will do it next time. :)

Meanwhile here is the second bribe letter to W. Which is part of my list. (which I think is fun to do but I'm pretty sure that this is not going to happen anytime sun. It's just fun!)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Baby,

As the 26th is nearly here, I would like to let you know as promised in my previous email.

Just in case (or probably in the future) you make it big (maybe before Christmas) or our anniversary, or maybe my birthday (Which ever comes first).

I will deeply appreciate a Louis Vuitton, Riveting Bag which is limited edition. =)

I promise to scratch your back more often before you sleep and maybe, well... or so so make you coffee every morning.

And here is the part you are NOT waiting for. The price tag. It's 3,300.00 =) (found it on ebay!)

Let me know if you still want to convert it in pesos.
